Dr. Alison Flanigan, DVM. is a co-owner of the Lake Placid Animal Hospital and a practicing veterinarian since 1999. She moved to the area in 2009 after summering in the ADK's for many years and opened the hospital in January of 2010. She shares her home with her husband, 3 children, 2 dogs and 1 cat. She feels that she was put on this earth to help animals. Her interests outside of veterinary medicine include yoga, skiing, mountain biking, cooking (and eating!) and quilting.

Our staff

Courtney Sullivan, LVT- Head Veterinary Technician joined us in 2012 after graduating from SUNY Canton's Veterinary Technician program. She grew up in Vermontville, NY and went to Saranac Lake High School. She loves all of her dogs but the coonhounds are her favorite! Other than Ruth, she is the longest employee we have had, from starting in the kennel position and working her way up to where she is now.

Ruth Schmidt, CVPM- Practice Manager Ruth has been with us since the doors opened in 2010. Ruth is a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager and also a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional. Before coming to LPAH Ruth worked at the Tri Lakes Humane Society. She has an interest in dog training and competes with her dogs in obedience and agility. She shares her home with her husband, son and daughter, 3 dogs, 2 cats and 2 birds.

Daniel Foley-Veterinary Assistant. Daniel joined LPAH in 2019 as a kennel attendant and recently has been promoted to veterinary assistant. He shares his home with his cat Murphy. In his free time he enjoys playing soccer.

Roslyn McClatchie- Veterinary Assistant. Ros joined our staff in 2017. She has worked in many different roles in the hospital but currently is a veterinary assistant/receptionist. Ros will be going to vet tech school in the fall. She shares her home with her dog Timber and shares custody of a variety of other animals with her roommates.

Elias Ford- Daycare Manager. Eli joined the staff in 2021. He quickly became a favorite of all dogs and daycare parents alike. Eli shares his home with his Australian Shepard Leo and enjoys staying active outside in his free time.

Kade Hill- Laboratory Technician Kade joined the LPAH family in September of 2021. They came to us after working with our local humane society. Kade shares their home with 1 dog, 4 cats and a flock of chickens.

Lisa Reid- Receptionist Lisa joined the LPAH family in September of 2021. She came to us after Dr. Flanigan pulled her out of retirement to lend us her amazing people skills on a part time basis. Lisa shares her home with her 3 sons and her grand dog.

Jennifer Carrick- Veterinary Technician Jennifer just joined the LPAH family in May of 2022 after relocating from Maryland. She shares her home with her husband, daughter and crew of pets.
Angie Fontana- Receptionist Angie joined the LPAH family in January of 2022. She enjoys being active outside and shares her home with her family and her dog.
