Dr. Alison Flanigan, DVM. is the practice owner of the Lake Placid Animal Hospital and a practicing veterinarian since 1999. She moved to the area in 2009 after summering in the ADK's for many years and opened the hospital in January of 2010. She shares her home with her husband, 3 children, 4 dogs and 1 cat. She feels that she was put on this earth to help animals. Her interests outside of veterinary medicine include yoga, skiing, mountain biking, cooking (and eating!) and quilting.
Dr. Gracey Frenette-Welsh, DVM. joined the Lake Placid Animal Hospital staff in 2016 after graduating from Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in Saranac Lake and comes from a family with long ties to the Adirondacks. She shares her home with her husband and 4 German Shorthaired Pointers. She has a special interest in veterinary nutrition.
Courtney Sullivan, LVT- Head Veterinary Technician joined us in 2012 after graduating from SUNY Canton's Veterinary Technician program. She grew up in Vermontville, NY and went to Saranac Lake High School. She loves any dog that may have coonhound in its mix. Her interests include camping, boating on our beautiful lakes with her boyfriend and dog training.
Ruth Schmidt- Receptionist extraordinaire, consumate conversationalist and collective memory of the entire staff. Ruth has been with us since the doors opened in 2010. She will most likely be the voice you here when you call and will remember your name, your pet's name and what you were here for the last time you were in. She shares her home with her 2 cats, 2 dogs, her husband and her son.
Israel Smith: Kennel Manager. Israel has been with the Lake Placid Animal Hospital since 2017. He enjoys spending time with dogs and shares his home with his rescue dog Dixie.
Alyssa Granato: Kennel Technician: Alyssa joined the LPAH team in 2018. She enjoys spending time with the animals here, volunteers at the local humane society and she shares her home with her boyfriend Chris and rescued dog and cats.
Roslyn McClatchie- Kennel Technician. Ros joined our staff in 2018. She recently graduated from Saranac Lake HS and will be starting nursing school in the fall. She shares her home with her cat and her dog.
Amanda Trombley: Vet assistant. Amanda has been with the animal hospital for about 2 years (minus a brief period where she moved away but came back because she missed us!) She enjoys spending time with dogs and horses and shares her home with her dog and her daughter Olivia.
