Dr. Alison Flanigan, DVM. is the practice owner of the Lake Placid Animal Hospital and a practicing veterinarian since 1999. She moved to the area in 2009 after summering in the ADK's for many years and opened the hospital in January of 2010. She shares her home with her husband, 3 children, 4 dogs and 1 cat. She feels that she was put on this earth to help animals. Her interests outside of veterinary medicine include yoga, skiing, mountain biking, cooking (and eating!) and quilting.
Dr. Gracey Frenette-Welsh, DVM. joined the Lake Placid Animal Hospital staff in 2016 after graduating from Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in Saranac Lake and comes from a family with long ties to the Adirondacks. She shares her home with her husband and 4 German Shorthaired Pointers. She has a special interest in veterinary nutrition.
Courtney Sullivan, LVT- Head Veterinary Technician joined us in 2012 after graduating from SUNY Canton's Veterinary Technician program. She grew up in Vermontville, NY and went to Saranac Lake High School. She loves any dog that may have coonhound in its mix. Her interests include camping, boating on our beautiful lakes with her boyfriend and dog training.
Ruth Schmidt- Receptionist extraordinaire, consumate conversationalist and collective memory of the entire staff. Ruth has been with us since the doors opened in 2010. She will most likely be the voice you here when you call and will remember your name, your pet's name and what you were here for the last time you were in. She shares her home with her 2 cats, 2 dogs, her husband and her son.
Jayde Kelton- Kennel Manager. Jayde was born and bred in Lake Placid and loves her job and loves her co-workers. She lives in an apartment on the premises with her boyfriend of 5 years and their dachshund, Hopsin. She is patient and passionate about her job; caring for and loving all the animals that pass through her kennel.
Kayla Mullins- Kennel Technician. Kayla grew up in the area and lives in Wilmington, NY with her boyfriend of 2 years. She loves being a member of the LPAH family and couldn't be more thankful to have been given such a great opportunity to work with animals. She unfortunately can't have any pets of her own in her apartment so she gets her animal fix at work.
Azaria Bower- Kennel Technician. Our resident hippy flower child, Azaria grew up in Central NY and went to college at ESF, majoring in Natural Resources. Azaria joined the LPAH family in the fall of 2016. In her spare time she enjoys painting and embroidery. She shares her home with her partner and two rescue cats Scrap and Squid.
